Mrs. Kim Newcomb, Principal

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Leadership Magnet School's website.  Our website is full of information to help gain a better understanding of all that JLM has to offer 1st through 6th grade students.  It is my great honor to serve as the Assistant Principal of School Improvement at Leadership.

This is my 15th year in education with experience ranging from kindergarten to 6th grade as a classroom teacher.  I also have 3 years experience as an Instructional Facilitator in the Jonesboro School District.  My current position allows me to focus on my true passion; helping students reach their full academic potential.  I completed my BSE and MS in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

I have been married for 26 years to Denny Newcomb and we have 3 children; Kassie (Tanner), Weston (Sarah) and Kolton (Jenna).  We also have 7 grandchildren, who are the light of our lives; Raylin, Ethan, Jackson, Noah, Elias, Everett, and Harland Ray.  Our free time is spent soaking up as much of them as we can.  We also love to take road trips and travel to new places.

Leadership Magnet School is my home away from home.  I am passionate about making this campus desirable to all students in Jonesboro.  We are always blazing new trails in education and seeking to provide opportunities for our students that they may not experience elsewhere.  At the core of it all, we want to develop learners and leaders who can serve our community!  We invite you to be a part of our new narrative; empowering students to lead and excel.

Mr. Josh Fleming, Assistant Principal, Student Services

This is my 10th year in education, with 9 of those being with Jonesboro Public Schools.  I spent my first year in the district split between Jonesboro Kindergarten Center and Annie Camp Jr. High School before going to Aniie Camp full time.  I taught PE at JKC and Business Technology at Annie Camp.

Coaching has also been a big part of my career.  In my time here at Jonesboro, I have coached volleyball, football, baseball, and softball.  I spent two years as the head football coach at Annie Camp and the last six years I served as the head softball coach at Jonesboro High School. These roles have helped prepare me for my transition into administration and I am so excited to be serving as an administrator at Leadership!

I earned my BSE (Physical Education and Health) and MSE (Educational Leadership) at Arkansas State University.  My wife, Addie, teaches in the nursing program at ASU and we are huge Red Wolves fans!  We enjoy attending football and basketball games with our sons, Beau and Jack.  In my free time I enjoy reading, watching sports, and spending time with my family.

Leadership is such a welcoming place and I am so glad to be a part of this great team.  Everyone in the building has been so supportive since I began.  Delivering high quality instruction is evident in everything that we do at Leadership and I can't wait to see our students learn and grow throughout the year.
